Dr. Nate Champion is a Naturopathic Doctor, receiving his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from nationally accredited Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona. He graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. He is registered in the state of Minnesota by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Dr. Champion is a founding board member and past Treasurer of the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GastroANP). He is also past Vice President and current member of the Minnesota Association of Naturopathic Physicians (MNANP), and a current member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP).
Dr. Champion is an expert in treating digestive disorders, particularly inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis & Crohn’s Disease), Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). As a result of his own success of overcoming Ulcerative Colitis, he is passionate about helping others who are suffering with these conditions. He is also a brain tumor survivor and values various aspects of conventional medicine and utilizes the best of what conventional and naturopathic medicine have to offer for his patients. Through his extensive background in exercise physiology, Dr. Champion understands how fundamental and vitally important diet and lifestyle changes are in achieving optimal health. He utilizes clinical nutrition, along with botanicals, nutraceuticals, homeopathy, lifestyle modifications, and a variety of specialized diagnostic laboratory testing. Dr. Champion has a special interest and focus in digestive disorders, seeing patients of all ages with all kinds of acute and chronic digestive concerns.
Dr. Champion is passionate about naturopathic medicine and feels blessed to play such an integral part in the lives and health of others. He loves spending time with his patients, understanding their concerns, and helping them in their journey towards optimal health. After a thorough intake, health history, and any pertinent physical exams and laboratory tests, Dr. Champion develops an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan specific to you and your health concerns.
When he is not practicing, Dr. Champion enjoys volunteering and playing an active role in his church. He also loves staying physically active spending time outdoors with his wife, Dr. Nita Champion, their two daughters, and dog. He enjoys woodworking, hiking, mountain biking, cycling, fishing, gardening, landscaping, and many other outdoor activities.
